WHY MORE PEOPLE HAVE MORE DISEASE AND EARLIER IN LIFE?

 

There is increasing incidence of more people getting diseases and at increasingly earlier age. There are atleast 3-4 reasons for this.

  1. People, particularly the urban middle class, are (a) eating food that is cooked and reheated; sometimes, they may be eating food that is kept overnight and reheated in the morning; sometimes it could be even 2 days old. This is veritable poison and a sure source of toxins. (b) they are overeating and (c) eating food that has not been part of their traditional diet – that is food from which their body's cells and tissues have been formed.
  2. Most people are using refined oil – a wrong source of fat that gives them loads of the LDL – the fat that affects our arteries and organs. It also affects efficient functioning of the liver.
  3. People are not taking enough good fat – this is weakening their liver and nervous system. In fact, good unrefined (cold-pressed) oil is hard to get in the Indian market and is also very expensive. The market is flooded with cheap refined oils of all kinds. A lot of these unwholesome oils are imported 'cheaply' and used to adulterate the local good oils. Good fat is essential for good health.
  4. Most middle people are eating more than one grain in a meal – rice and chapathis for instance, and this is bad for the health of the colon. It is better to eat only one grain in a meal.

I have suggested to many people to change these habits and their health has shown remarkable improvement when they have effected the changes.

This is cold and dry season. As the winter sun heats up our environment and bodies, the excess the body might have collected through the wet rainy season, tends to clog up the sinuses causing nasal blockage, sinus problems and breathing difficulties. Here are a couple of things you can do to help yourself. Please follow the simple instructions correctly to benefit from them:
1. Always drink hot boiled water- it increases the efficiency of your liver that clears up the blockages.
2. If the cold and nasal congestion persist beyong 3-4 days, try this: Take a thick napkin, dip it in hot water (water should be as hot as you can bear) and foment your face, the cheeks, sinus areas and forehead well for a couple of minutes; Take a piece of turmeric, smear a little ghee on it and burn it; put out the flame and inhale the fumes through the nose. This procedure has to be done early in the morning by 7.30 or just before sunset time when the sun's heat is not high.
3. As this is dry season and the nasal cavity and throat can get dry, it helps immensely to oleate the nose and ears with oil or ghee. (Please remember, you should not put oil in your ears if you have any discharge in them.)
