DO'S AND DON'T'S TO KEEP GOOD HEALTH
Follow these traditional and time-tested practices to keep good health and avoid sickness.
+ Have Abhyanga every day or as frequently as possible : that is, take a few spoons of oil and couple of spoons of salt and rub it all over your body; wait for about 10 minutes and bathe, as usual. Have breakfast after your bath.
+ Drink a glass of boiled and hot water after each meal. Do not drink coffee or tea after eating.
+ Your meals should be simple and cooked fresh everyday. It is better to eat the food traditionally eaten in the family.
+ Eat fruits separately or before the meal. Eat sweets at the beginning of the meal.
+ Drink enough water to satisfy your thirst and not unnecessarily or excessively.
+ Exercise regularly to keep your body and joints flexible. Maintain the habit of sitting down on the floor.
+ Relax a while eating or drinking water and do not rush or exercise immediately after eating.
+ Keep your mind calm avoid anger, hatred or excessive worry.
+ It is better to eat only one grain in meal eitherrice, ragi, jowar or wheat. Do not use multi-grain flour.
x Never eat food from previous day or reheat food and eat.
X Never use refined oil read the label on the oil carefully and buy non-refined oil.
X When not well, avoid eating flour products (idli, dosa, bread, chapatti etc,) eat freshly cooked rice, rasam, kichdi etc.
X Do not eat curds in the night. Avoid fermented flour products in the night meal.
X Avoid eating outside food as much as possible. Eat freshly made home-made food.
X Minimise eating food not traditionally eaten in your family (eg., oats.). Certainly do not eat them when not well.
X Do not eat too much of raw vegetables. Do not eat them in the night meal or along with fruits.
